This Spring, Sonoma Ecology Center’s Restoration Team did a refresh of the Demonstration Garden at Nathanson Creek.

Lauren Claussen, SEC’s Restoration Program Manager shares, “The SEC Restoration team enjoys our work maintaining the Nathanson Demonstration garden, a long-standing collaboration with the City of Sonoma to maintain this community open space. This year we focused on improving sight lines by limbing (cutting) oak branches that were very dense or too close to infrastructure, pruning native California plants back to keep walkways clear, and removing non-native weeds from each of the plant community beds.”

Enjoy pictures of the drastic improvements!
