Let’s harvest the visual beauty at our Painting in the Garden event on Saturday, April 20, at one of our sessions: 10:00 am-12:00 pm OR 1:00-3:00 pm. This event will be a painting lesson al fresco.

Your painting will be a unique creation, guided by personalized attention from our kind and professional artist teacher, Jeannine Luke, a local artist who has taught painting for 30 years. Highly rated among her students, Jeannine Luke paints every day and has paintings hanging in a Tuscany museum.

With step by step instruction, feedback, and encouragement, you will walk away from class with a 8” by 10” painting ready to be framed. There will be a framing demonstration and ideas for home decor. All supplies will be provided including paint, canvas, aprons and easels.

No experience with painting is necessary, just a willingness to see nature in her glory! This guided class provides everything you need for the creative experience of the season. Sign up with a friend and bring a picnic for after the event!

Ticketing is free and ends at 11:59 PM on April 18, 2024. There is a limit of 2 tickets per order.

This event is organized by Julia Megna, Sonoma Ecology Center’s education project manager and owner of Florals and Decor by Julia. For questions, contact Julia at julia@sonomaecologycenter.org or Jeannine Luke at danceswithangels2@yahoo.com.

There is no charge for this outing, which is made possible by the voters of Sonoma County who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax. Sonoma Garden Park was protected by Ag + Open Space in November of 2011 for recreation and preservation of its natural resources, and learning classroom environment for agriculture field trips for nearby elementary schools through Sonoma Ecology Center’s “Growing Discovery” program. The 6-acre property, hidden in eastern Sonoma, is an incredible public park and working garden site in Sonoma Valley, home of a wide array of habitats alongside sustainably designed systems for both agriculture use and landscaping purposes.
