UPDATE 2/15, 2:38PM: This hike has been postponed to Sat, 2/24, for the same time.

Join Certified CA Naturalist John Lynch and Sugarloaf staff Desi Harp on a 3 mile, 2.5 hour guided nature walk from creekside to hillside and back through the meadow. We will take our time with frequent stops to enjoy and identify the wildflowers, talk about the traditional uses of plants we encounter, and catch our breath.

Tickets are $15-$20 sliding scale for general audiences, $7.5 for youth (12-17 year olds) and students, Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf volunteers, and free for children under 12. Meet at the Visitor Center. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for two miles of leisurely walking and chatting over moderate and possibly muddy terrain. Bring a quarter of water, We invite you to bring a reusable drink container for your little ones to enjoy hot cocoa after the walk. Heavy rains cancel; parking fees apply.

Ease of access: The main parking lot has one van-designated parking spot and an accessible vault toilet. There is a paved road from the main lot to the Visitor Center. The Creekside Nature Trail is ADA-compliant compliant for 0.35 miles and then turns into a single-track trail that crosses a narrow cement bridge. Hillside Trail is a fire road with two hills and a water crossing with a board. Meadow is also a compacted gravel fire road. From its trail head to the bridge, although not ADA-compliant, it is a fairly flat trail passable by power chair and stroller.
