Throughout the week\, campers will complete nature STEM experiments\, make art pieces using natural materials\, and learn how to be a good friend to the earth and its inhabitants\, all culminating in the award of their Sonoma Ecology Center Junior Naturalist certificate. \nA seasoned Outdoor Educator of almost nine years\, Camille offers a dynamic camp experience that ebbs and flows between moments of structured\, large group activities like “chemistry” experiments using vegetable matter\, and plenty of opportunities for children to follow their own interests and choose from an assortment of creative projects. With the garden as their playground\, campers are given a safe space to explore\, learn\, build\, and create to the beat of their own drum. Facilitated activities include scavenger hunts\, fabric art\, bubble wands\, bug hut building\, animal tracking\, making forts\, and more! Sonoma Garden Park’s newest attraction\, the Children’s Nature Play Area\, offers a haven for young adventurers to explore\, unwind\, and connect with nature\, truly embracing the spirit of play! From team-building challenges to wildlife enactments\, Garden Camp promises an enriching\, memorable experience that children will take with them into the school year. \n¡Este verano únete a Camille y Jonny en Sonoma Garden Park y conviértete en un Naturalista Junior en aprendizaje! DESCRIPTION:Join Jonny and Camille for Creek Camp at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park this summer!  In this day camp (9:00 am-3:00 pm) kids will enjoy hiking and exploring the trails of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park\, including splashing around in the creek in the afternoon.  Campers will learn about local plants\, animals\, and the indigenous Wappo\, Coast Miwok\, and Southern Pomo peoples who have called Sugarloaf Ridge State Park home for generations. Each day includes a balance of games\, hiking\, and storytelling\, all facilitated by Sonoma Ecology Center’s year-round\, seasoned Environmental Educators. Creek Camp is a wonderful opportunity for your child to unwind\, recharge\, and learn this summer without the distractions of screen time. Each summer\, kids leave Creek Camp having made new friendships and with a deeper connection with nature. \n¡Únete a Jonny y Camille en el Campamento en el arroyo en Sugarloaf Ridge State Park este verano! En este campamento de día\, participantes disfrutarán de caminatas y explorarán los senderos de Sugarloaf Ridge State Park\, incluyendo meterse al arroyo en la tarde. Los participantes aprenderán acerca de la flora y fauna local\, al igual que de la gente indígena Wappo\, Coast Miwok\, y Southern Pomo\, quienes han llamado a Sugarloaf  hogar por generaciones. SUMMARY:Summer Science Camps: Garden Camp for ages 6-11\, Session 2
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, join Camille and Jonny at Garden Camp and become a Junior Naturalist in training! Throughout the week\, campers will complete nature STEM experiments\, make art pieces using natural materials\, and learn how to be a good friend to the earth and its inhabitants\, all culminating in the award of their Sonoma Ecology Center Junior Naturalist certificate. \nA seasoned Outdoor Educator of almost nine years\, Camille offers a dynamic camp experience that ebbs and flows between moments of structured\, large group activities like “chemistry” experiments using vegetable matter\, and plenty of opportunities for children to follow their own interests and choose from an assortment of creative projects. With the garden as their playground\, campers are given a safe space to explore\, learn\, build\, and create to the beat of their own drum. Facilitated activities include scavenger hunts\, fabric art\, bubble wands\, bug hut building\, animal tracking\, making forts\, and more! Sonoma Garden Park’s newest attraction\, the Children’s Nature Play Area\, offers a haven for young adventurers to explore\, unwind\, and connect with nature\, truly embracing the spirit of play! From team-building challenges to wildlife enactments\, Garden Camp promises an enriching\, memorable experience that children will take with them into the school year. \n¡Este verano únete a Camille y Jonny en Sonoma Garden Park y conviértete en un Naturalista Junior en aprendizaje! A través de la semana\, participantes participarán en experimentos de educación STEM\, crearán obras de arte usando materiales naturales y aprenderán cómo ser un buen compañero a la tierra y sus habitantes\, todo culminando en la premiación de su certificado de Sonoma Ecology Center Naturalista Junior. \nUna educadora con casi nueve años de experiencia\, Camille ofrece una experiencia de campamento dinámica que se balancea entre momentos de actividades en grupo estructurados como experimentos de “química” usando material vegetal\, y bastantes oportunidades para que participantes sigan sus propios instintos y escojan uno de muchos proyectos creativos. Con el jardín como su parque infantil\, participantes estarán en un lugar seguro para explorar\, aprender\, construir\, y crear a sus anchas. DESCRIPTION:Saturday Harvest Markets are back!\n2025 Harvest Markets reopen April 19\, 2025 and continue until December\, 2025. Harvest Markets take place every Saturday\, 9:00 am-1:00 pm. The Harvest Market is a great place to pick up produce\, flowers\, and eggs harvested from our 6.1 acre sustainable garden. We also sell local honey and olive oil. Learn how to create defensible space from 0–100 feet and beyond\, while conserving water and supporting biodiversity. Presenters include experts from the University of Nevada’s Fire and Drylands Ecosystem Lab and the Resilient Landscapes Coalition—a collaborative project of Sonoma Ecology Center\, the UC Master Gardener Program\, The Habitat Corridor Project\, and Fire Safe Sonoma. \nThis workshop is free of charge but spaces are limited\, so registration is required.
