Patric Kearns, Sonoma resident and Master Falconer, will present an introduction to basic raptor biology and a look into the birds’ lives with an overview of how they exist in the environment and why they are important.

After introducing the basic characteristics that identify a raptor as a bird of prey, we will discuss migration, adaptation, habitat use, anatomy and how these birds fit into the food chain in a predator/prey relationship.

She will be joined by Chris Melançon, farmer and falconer from LOLA Sonoma Farms. Patric and Chris are actively involved in supporting the rehabilitation of raptors under the care of the Sonoma County Bird Rescue Center.

Live raptors will be present on static display.

Hunters in the Sky is presented by Wine Country Raptors in partnership with LOLA Sonoma Farms and the Sonoma Garden Park.
