You may have heard that compost is great for improving soil health and diverting food waste from landfills, but did you know that using and making compost also helps slow down climate change by sequestering carbon from the atmosphere?
Daily Acts and the Sonoma Ecology Center are pleased to be partnering for a Compost and Carbon Sequestration event at Sonoma Garden Park on March 18, 10:00 am-12:30 pm to promote carbon cycle solutions you can take up in your own home garden. We will explain how compost is an excellent tool for mitigating climate change and demonstrate how you can make your own compost bins. We will also discuss other innovative options that draw down carbon, including using Biochar and Bokashi.

The presentation will be followed by a demonstration of the techniques discussed and an optional opportunity to spread compost onto the Sonoma Garden Park Landscape. There will also be a FREE Compost Giveaway, so be sure to bring buckets, bags, or other containers to pick up compost for your home garden.
