Don’t miss this opportunity to take part in citizen science! Organized by Occidental Arts and Ecology Center’s WATER Institute, the “Beaver Blitz” is a group effort to map the beaver’s distribution throughout Sonoma County. The results will help us to further study and protect this crucial habitat-building creature.
Locals interested in this project can meet at the Sonoma Ecology Center parking lot at 9 a.m. (We’re located off Harney in Sonoma Developmental Center, just past the bridge – here is a map.)
As OAEC puts it, “People of all ages and skill levels are welcome! You bring your curiosity, a smart phone with the iNaturalist app downloaded (or digital camera), and tons of enthusiasm.”
These kinds of citizen science projects really work. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of one right here in Sonoma Valley.
