Summer Camp 2013

Science Camp provides children with the opportunity to learn about science and connect with nature through hands-on, interactive experiments, explorations, and adventures. Campers will also make new friends, develop new skills, and work with a highly qualified staff of professional educators and naturalists. Each camp theme is rich in science content, eco-friendly arts & crafts, fun games, and healthy snacks.

Water Warriors Camp Session I

June 10 – June 14, 9 am to 3 pm

Ages 8 to 12

Campers will spend a week as junior scientists exploring Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Activities include monitoring water quality and creek temperature, collecting and studying aquatic insects and aquatic food chains, and learning about the flora and fauna found in the local creek ecosystem. Camp days will also consist of games, arts & crafts, singing, and storytelling.

Camp fees are $225 per session for Sonoma Ecology Center members and $265 for non-members. Pay Online Now!

We will study 'Herbology,' 'Potions,' and 'Care of Magical Creatures,' play Quidditch and other wizarding games, search for gold in the Enchanted Forest, and tackle the Sorcerer's Stone Challenge. On the first day of camp, campers will be sorted into houses by the Sorting Hat, camp closes with an End of Term feast.

Ages 6 to 10

Campers will explore and learn all about the natural world at the Sonoma Garden Park. Activities include birding, insect investigations, garden explorations, natural arts & crafts, and garden-themed games. Camp days will also consist of gardening, making garden snacks, singing, and storytelling.

Harry Potter’s Triwizard Tournament Camp

July 22 – July 26, 9 am to 3 pm

Ages 6 to 12

Designed for campers who have completed Sorcerer’s Stone Camp, the Triwizard Tournament welcomes campers back to Hogwarts-Sonoma School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for a second week of Harry Potter fun! We'll study 'Herbology,' 'Defense Against the Dark Arts,' and 'Care of Magical Creatures,' play Quidditch and other wizarding games, learn to make Polyjuice Potion, and compete in the Triwizard Tournament. On the first day of camp, campers will be sorted into houses by the Sorting Hat, and camp closes with an End of Term feast.

Squirmin' Worms Camp

July 1 – July 5 (no camp on July 4), 9 am to 12 pm

Ages 4 & 5
Dig in the dirt, build a bug tower, meet a chicken, harvest some strawberries at Sonoma Garden Park. Squirmin’ Worms camp includes outdoor games, story time, singing, gardening, harvesting and preparing healthy snacks, arts and crafts, making new friends, and playing in the magical Fig Forest.
