The Sonoma Ecology fulfillls its mission through five initiatives that are carried out through our projects and that are re-evaluated annually through a community summit.

Initiative 1 Community and Stewardship

The Sonoma Ecology Center engages with diverse populations of our valley to achieve environmental stewardship.

Initiative 2 Water

Water in the Sonoma Valley is of a quality and quantity optimal to sustain human and ecosystems function.

Initiative 3 Biodiversity

Native species, communities, and ecosystems in our valley are shown to be stable, functioning robustly, and recovering from a history of human impacts.

Initiative 4 Energy

Sonoma Valley is a leader in energy efficiency. SEC supports and enhances the ability of the community to be on the cutting edge of responding to energy challenges.

Initiative 5 Land

Sonoma Valley has a transparent, durable process for determining, attaining, and maintaining a mix of land uses that supports watershed health and economic well-being through time and changes in conditions.
